A Vampyre story totalausfall

hi, habe mir montag avs gekauft und es auf dem notebook meiner freundin installiert ( das teil ist brandneu).
das spiel liess sich ohne probleme installieren und lief auch vorerst, zwar halt auch nur in 4:3, aber das ist erst mal nebensächlich.
seit gestern funktioniert das spiel gar nicht mehr. die spiel-dvd wird einfach nicht mehr gelesen, man hört noch nicht einmal irgendein geräusch vom laufwerk. hab erst gedacht, dass es am laufwerk liegen könnte, jedoch tritt dieses problem ausschliesslich bei avs auf.
das spiel deinstallieren kann ich auch nicht, da avs nicht einmal unter systemsteuerung -> programme eingetragen ist. eine deinstallationsanwendung hab ich manuell nicht finden können.
betriebssystem ist vista. da ich selber xp nutze, habe ich echt gar keine ahnung von vista und bin nun ratlos, was ich tun kann um das spiel wieder zum laufen zu bringen.

dvd ist auch nicht beschädigt o.ä, da das spiel bei mir einwandfrei auf dem pc läuft.

hat sich denn seit gestern irgend etwas verändert? also ein update von virenscanner, firewall, vista, etc.?
und die dvd wird auch als solche nicht mehr vom laufwerk erkannt? (im arbeitsplatz (heißt bei vista mein computer)) sprich, wenn du das laufwerk anklickst, erscheint ein warnfeld, es sei kein datenträger in fraglichem laufwerk? oder passiert gar nichts?
...wie ein Toastbrot im Regen.

laut meiner freundin kamen seit der installation keine virensoftwareupdates etc.
wenn ich das laufwerk in "mein computer" anklicke, passiert einfach gar nichts. nromalerweise hört man ja auch dass eine cdc/dvd gelesen wird, aber wie schon gesagt passiert einfach gar nichts.
skuril ist auch, dass das spiel nicht in der systemsteuerung unter software bzw programme auftaucht.
dachte halt dass eine deinstallation weiterhelfen könnte,aber keine ahnung wie ich das nun machen kann

hm, im zweifelsfall findest du im netz bestimmt ein software removal tool. das würde ich auf jeden fall erstmal probieren. findest du mit der suchfunktion irgendwelche Ordner mit dem namen AVS? oder A Vampyre Story?

Hört sich wirklich merkwürdig an, denn normalerweise wird A Vampyre Story auch bei Vista in der Systemsteuerung unter "Programme und Funktionen" aufgelistet. Darüber hinaus gibt es im Startmenü/Programme/A Vampyre Story Menü auch den Punkt Uninstall A Vampyre Story. Und zu guter Letzt befindet sich Installationsordner von A Vampyre Story (im Gegensatz zur exe zum Spielstart in keinem weiteren Unterordner) eine uninst.exe.
