Heute veröffentlichte Gamespot ein Interview mit 'Syberia'-Vater Benoît Sokal, in dem er sich einen Rückblick auf Teil 1 und einen Ausblick auf den kommenden 2.Teil erlaubt. Ein Ausschnitt:

GameSpy: Is Syberia strong enough to become a long-running franchise? If Syberia II does well will Microïds continue to foster and grow the franchise?
Benoît Sokal: Well, to begin with, it is clear that this game will be the last of the Syberia series … which doesn't mean that it will be Kate Walker's last adventure.

To be honest with you, we're working more on developing a franchise around Kate Walker than around Syberia. We hope that the players and Kate develop a strong enough relationship so people will be interested in following her into new adventures across the globe.

Kate Walker is very important to Microïds, and to the company's future, but we still don't want to overexpose the character and make people sick of seeing her everywhere.
