Kleine Kostprobe:
How did the "point and click" adventure genre get started at LucasArts? Who would you point out as the person (or people) most responsible for the development of the genre?
[Sean Clark] That all happened slightly before I got here, but it really seemed to be mostly driven by Ron Gilbert. He wanted to remove the tedious "guess the right word" experiences that players had with typing-based interfaces that were typical in adventure games then. Ron was quite visionary in this respect, and really laid the groundwork for gameplay conventions we now take for granted.
